Dior has created a brand new collection for Spring 2012, to honor the old times when Christian Dior himself worked as a gallerist. The new collection is designed in collaboration with German artist Anselm Reyle.
The famous artist caught the attention of Delphine Arnault, Dior’s deputy general manager, after seing some of his works at Almine Rech Galery in Paris. The artist was given a carte blanche from the brand, and all of the products of their collaboration are genuine works of art.
In addition to makeup collection, Anselm Reyle also designed a full range of Dior couture: ballet slippers, silk scarves, shopping totes, key fobs with acrylic charms, and epic Miss Dior bags now in metallic leathers with neon stitching.
The piece that truly captures the attention is the limited edition Anselm Reyle for Dior Eyeshadow Palette, which features a camouflage pattern in shades of silver, grey, charcoal and violet. This product retails at $110.00. The collection also includes five limited edition shades of Dior Vernis: Ultra Violet, Pink Graffiti, Electric Blue, Metallic Silver and Untitled Black, each retailing at $23.00. Anselm Reyle's collection for Dior is available starting from January 2012, at Saks Fifth Avenue, Dior’s Boutique Art Basel and Dior.com.
