September 2012 sees the launch of the new complexion perfector by Giorgio Armani Cosmetics. The product is a fruit of eight years of research and it arrives on the international market as a brand new makeup category from the brand.
The new product is a complexion perfector based on a formula free from water and powder. This is quit a unique feature, as most of the tinted moisturizers, foundations and perfectors use these ingredients for the base. The brand describes the product as something that is not quite a foundation but rather a fusion of oils and pigments distinguished by its lightweight texture.
Because of its unusual consistency, the product is dispensed via a dropper. The fluid actually incorporates five time-released oils, which gradually evaporate upon application, leaving the colorful pigments on the skin. The brand has evaluated around hundred different oils before they decided on five they're going to use in the formula. Each of the oils evaporates at different rates and thus protects the moisture throughout the day and ensures true color and even distribution of the pigment.
Giorgio Armani Maestro Fusion Makeup SPF15 will be available in 12 shades in the U.S, and will retail for $62 for 1.0 oz. Globally, there will be only 9 shades available.

In addition to the Fusion Makeup SPF15, the brand will also release a complementary product designed for the eye area. The Maestro Eraser is a hybrid of concealer, skin care and illuminator formulated to reduce the levels of bilirubin and iron in the skin and thus reduce the appearance of under-eye circles while improving elasticity and firmness. Giorgio Armani Maestro Eraser will be sold in six shades, each priced at $40 for 0.5 oz.
