•Fango Purificante Purifying Clay Cleanser, 3.5 FL OZ
•Fango Purificante Purifying Mud Mask for Face + Body, 1 OZ
•Fango Purificante Essential Balance and Pore Refining Serum, 1 FL OZ
A complexion-clearing formula that provides deep-down-to-pores clean. Featuring naturally-sourced clay, this gentle, lathering cleanser delivers the purifying power of a mask and rinses without stripping essential moisture leaving skin radiant. Phytic Acid, polyphenol-rich plant extracts and antioxidants help refine, soothe and smooth. Skin is left clear, fresh and illuminated.
Tested by BeautyAlmanac: I love this cleanser as it is unlike most of the other products I own. The closest products I can think of are charcoal washes such as Clinique for Men Charcoal Face Wash. This very subtly (citrus) scented product creates a light lather and helps unclog pores, a must for those who regularly use products such as sunscreens or who have oily skin. And let's face it - we spend so much time washing dirt off, that it's kind of cool to be purposely putting it back on my face to clean it!
The 3.5 oz size is quite generous as a little goes a long way. I imagine this would last for about 3-4 weeks of daily use. I've used this after shaving and on neck and scalp as well. No irritation to my sensitive skin. Note that this contains hyaluronic acid which can cause drying.
This complexion-clearing formula purifies and illuminates. Naturally-sourced clay purges impurities and helps sequester sebum. Natural acids and polyphenol-rich plant extracts exfoliate, refine and minimize pores, to help clarify even blemish-prone skin. Algal Earth helps smooth and resurface. Antioxidants and skin-soothing botanicals provide for clear, radiant and beautifully balanced skin.
Tested by BeautyAlmanac: I do have sensitive skin and this mask was a little harsh for me. It left my skin red and burning and I won't be using it again. I will admit that none of the other Active Mud masks from the main Borghese line work for me, though I did have success with the Fango Essenziali Mud Mask: Purify from Borghese. This was much lighter and I didn't experience any burning.
However, reviewers at other sites positively rave about this. For example: "Even if I wasn't using anything else from Borghese I would still HAVE to have this mask...the original fango mask was OK for me but not great. This one though...Omg...my skin was clearer, brighter, smoother, and the sofest its ever been. I used this before going out and had someone ask me what I did because I looked about 10 years younger!! I also use it as On The Spot treatment for breakouts...clears them right up. FANTASTIC" (Borghese.com)
The mask goes on like most mud products and actually smelled pretty good, too. It dries rather quickly and then easily washes off. The tube provided would likely be enough for 4 to 5 masks. Note that this contains hyaluronic acid which can cause drying.
This ultra-light, fast-absorbing serum delivers a visibly clear difference. Fango Purificante Essential Balance & Pore Refining Serum is formulated with naturally-sourced clay, Algal earth and Phytic Acid to help purge and refine pores, mattify skin’s surface and regulate shine. A proprietary botanical blend comforts and calms the skin. Skin is left smooth with a renewed clarity and luminosity.
Tested by BeautyAlmanac: I really liked this serum; it helps to unclog pores over time and keep skin calm and without excess oil. I used it after cleaning my face with the purifying clay cleanser 5 days in a row, a tiny dab (it comes as a glass jar with medicine dropper and a little goes a long way), and spread it over my t-zone and cheeks.
The product instructions suggest following with a moisturizer but I didn't want to put anything else on my face. I actually didn't need a moisturizer and I did notice a reduction in oil. I was expecting some minor breakouts as the products are meant to refine pores but to my surprise, clear skin all the way!
The serum is on the pricey side and I am not sure how many guys would feel the need to include this kind of product in their skincare regimen, but the medicine dropper and the fact that it's made from clay are kind of fascinating and kitschy.
