I’m sure you remember the news I launched a couple of weeks ago, about the exciting new beauty collaboration between Karl Lagerfeld and shu uemura. Well, here is the first look into the upcoming makeup range! Enjoy :)

One of the most interesting manifestations of Karl Lagerfeld’s genius is that for more than 20 years he used exclusively shu uemura makeup to create illustrations. It was about time for two legends to join their creative forces and design an original makeup collection. The new range comprises of 17 stock keeping units and it is named simply - Karl Lagerfeld for shu uemura. The collection is inspired by Lagerfeld’s personal vision of a Japanese manga and the author describes it as “Eastern, perfect, mysterious, modern beauty.”

Karl Lagerfeld for shu uemura collection brings exciting new makeup products as well as some old but iconic shu uemura items like UV Under Base ($56.40) or the cleansing oil ($105.45). The brand’s emblematic products are now delivered in specially designed package, featuring Karl Lagerfeld’s illustration. The design features a lovely girly character - Mon Shu - with red eyes and black bob, dressed in Lagerfeld’s recognizable high white collar and black tie.

Products created by Karl Lagerfeld include two eye-and-cheek palettes ($84.65), one in smoky green color harmony and the other in smoky purple. What is really interesting is that each of the compacts includes the shade of red – this is because Lagerfeld have always dreamed of a red eye shadow to use in his illustrations. The shade of red is included into the range at maestro’s own request and out of his personal desire. Eye makeup also includes dark purple gel eyeliner ($33.10) and two different designs of eyelashes ($34.30/$68.70).

There are four shades of lipstick ($36.20) - Mon Shu Red, Luxe Burgundy, Celebrity Beige and Parisienne Pink – and three shades of nail lacquer ($27) - Karl Black, Shu Shu Red and Royal Beige. Each shade of nail polish is sold with nail stickers featuring Mon Shu. Other items include an eyelash curler ($42.90), a mini brush kit ($60.10) and a makeup box ($367.80).

Karl Lagerfeld for shu uemura makeup collection launches in October in the UK, USA and Canada. The range will become available in 18 various countries by the end of February 2013.
