Michael Kors Beauty Collection

Famous fashion designer Michael Kors is branching out into make-up! His first color cosmetics collection is scheduled for release in August 2012!

Michael Kors is known for his wonderful collaborations with Estee Lauder, but now the 53-year-old designer launches his very first independent beauty line, which is split into three different collections: Sporty, Sexy and Glam. Each of the collections is based on a single emotion or mood, and it comprises of a matching fragrance and a number of key color products. Each collection brings two shades of Lip Lacquer ($24), two Lip Luster lip glosses ($24) and two shades of nail polish ($18). The Sporty range is distinguished by nude-taupes, the Sexy range features vibrant red hues, while the Glam collection brings plum and violet shades.

Michael Kors makeup collection also includes three Bronzing Powders ($50) in Glow, Flush and Beam (light, shimmery and deep copper) and a Bronze Powder Brush ($45). The range will feature a number of sun and body products, as well, including Indulgent Body Creme, $60 for 5.9 oz.; Liquid Shimmer Dry Oil, $60 for 3.2 oz., Shimmer Bath Beads, $45 for 3.2 oz; Liquid Self Tanner, $32 for 5 oz.; After Sun Gelee, $32 for 5 oz., and After Sun Lip Balm, $28 for 0.12 oz..

In the U.S., the collection will be sold in 660 Macy’s doors, since this major beauty retailer has a one-year exclusive on the project. The face of the collection is Kors’ muse Karmen Pedaru.
