Chanel Chateau de Versailles Makeup Collection
Published: 2012-12-03 by Marina MilojevićChanel is launching a new beauty collection named Château de Versailles. The collection is inspired by the beautiful royal castle Château de Versailles, in the Île-de-France region of France, where this year's Chanel Cruise 2013 collection was shown back in May.
The collection features a vintage selection of golden and pinkish hues, evoking the splendor of royal surroundings and replicating the beauty style of French monarchy. The beauty looks created with Chanel Château de Versailles makeup collection are fresh and radiant, mostly clean and natural, but spiced up with Chanel's new Double C Face Stickers.
During the French aristocratic period which serves as inspiration for the new Chanel collection (from 15th century to the 18th century) aesthetic canon required a woman to have a skin as white as possible. Various face powders were used to achieve this, and the whiteness of the complexion was further emphasized by rouges and fake moles, which were made of black muslin glued onto the skin (typically on breasts or on the face).
