Clinique Introduces Clinique iD a Custom-Blend Hydration System
Published: 2018-11-13 by Marina MilojevićClinique is gearing up to launch a custom-blend hydration system, Clinique iD, which is said to be the brand’s biggest launch since Even Better Clinical!
The beauty brand that is primarily focused on moisturizers prides itself in selling one moisturizer at a rate of every three seconds – no less than 24 million units per year! To keep the trend going, Clinique revolutionizes its bestselling Dramatically Different collection with a custom-blend hydration system comprising 15 unique combinations.
So, how this works?
According to preliminary information, Clinique iD relies on a customization system that allows the customer to choose from three different Dramatically Different hydration bases — a hydrating jelly, lotion, or oil-control gel. The next step is to pair the desired texture with a cartridge of concentrated active ingredients. There are five different options to choose from, and each of them addresses one of the major skin concerns: irritation and sensitivity, enlarged pores and irregular texture, uneven skintone, fatigue, and lines and wrinkles. Finally, the cartridge is placed in the same patent-pending bottle as the hydration base, and both are delivered simultaneously through a pump at a ration that is 90% moisturizer and 10% active.
Each of the five cartridges features a color indicative of the active ingredient present inside. The green cartridge, for example, uses lactobacillus ferment to calm the skin and address irritation. White cartridge, with Japanese angelica root extract, provides brightening action to make the skin tone more even. Orange includes taurine to revitalize tired skin. The blue one features alpha hydroxy acids to diminish the look of pores and retexturize skin, and the purple cartridge carries whey protein to smooth the skin and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Last but not least, Clinique iD is formulated without parabens, phthalates and fragrance. A single bottle is enough for a 3-month treatment, while the first results are expected to be visible after one week of use.
Clinique iD is aimed at Millennial consumers, and strategically priced at $39 for a 125 ml bottle. The range will launch on Dec. 1 on clinique.com
