Cushion Foundations - the next big thing in beauty

One of the emerging makeup trends, and certainly one of those trends that everyone's about to be obsessed with in 2016, are the cushion foundations. According to all major beauty observers, the next big thing in foundation is cushion compact foundations. Some of them even swear that these cute little complexion enhancers are literally going to change the way we think about makeup. So, what's it all about?

With growing frequency, innovative beauty products are originating from Asia, where daily skincare routines often involve no less than 10 steps. Asian-made BB Creams, brightening skincare, facial oils, and skin care masks, can all be traced back to the East. While cushion foundations are nothing new in Asia, the Western world was closely introduced to cushion compacts in April 2015, when the renowned Parisian brand Lancôme launched its Miracle Cushion Foundation.

Cushion foundations, which are now the latest in skincare across the Europe and Americas, originate from Southern Korea, where they make up more than 40% of the foundation market. This miracle product is based on an innovative delivery system, which allows Korean women to get all of the benefits of BB and CC creams, but with much sheerer, more natural, refreshing coverage. The cushion technology allows a liquid foundation to be suspended in a sponge, and picked up with a special spill-proof applicator. Once applied, it creates is natural, buildable coverage, which is extremely convenient for layering and re-application.

The handy compacts are extremely travel-friendly, and perfect for touch-ups on-the go. To apply, use a powder puff and press it into a cushion sponge. Tap around your face, and blend in the edges. The more product you tap in, the more skincare benefits, and more dewy coverage you get.

This is a perfect product for the „no makeup“ makeup look, that's becoming increasingly popular. So, this spring, instead of masking your skin with heavy foundations, use this lightweight formula to perfect the skin. It will give you that „lit from within glow,“ and dewy, oil-free finish. The formula not only contains a burst of brightening antioxidants, but also boosts moisture, and protects the skin from sun-induced damage.

Pros:

Cons:

• there's not a lot of the formula in the compact, it's running out much faster than traditional foundations.
• while cushion compacts are delivered with advanced beauty applicators that stay constantly moist and bacteria-free, germ build-up is possible if using brushes or regular sponges.
