The famous Parisian beauty brand, Lancôme, is launching its new color collection, which is designed to mark the holiday season of 2014. The new makeup range is named Parisienne Lights, and it is strongly inspired by the romantic nocturnal face of the La Ville-Lumière, the City of Light.

Paris is often referred to as the City of Light, not only because of its prominent educational role during the Age of Enlightenment, but also because it was one of the first world cities to start using gas street lightning, in 1817. In the 1860s Paris streets and monuments were illuminated by 56,000 gas lamps, making it literally "The City of Light." Even today, Paris lights up in the evening, revealing its hidden, more romantic face… The Lancôme’s Parisienne Lights collection derives inspiration from romantic and glamorous atmosphere of the City of Light by night… Everything here is encased in gold-colored packaging, blended with bright color pigments, and infused with festive glitter..
