MAC for Azealia Banks - Yung Rapunxel Lipstick

MAC launches a limited edition shade of lipstick designed by hip-hop artist Azealia Banks.

In the words of John Demsey, group president of the Estée Lauder Cos. Inc, Fashion Week has always been an important part of MAC’s DNA. The New York Fashion Week starts on September 6, with a Fashion’s Night Out performance by hip-hop artist Azealia Banks at the brand’s MAC Cosmetics SoHo store. To celebrate the occasion, Banks is collaborating with MAC to create a limited-edition lipstick, Yung Rapunxel, which is a deep shade of blackened purple. This unique shade, priced at $15, will hit the shelves on September 6, and it will be sold throughout September 20, in all NYC MAC stores.

It is no secret that MAC test-drives numerous product prototypes backstage, and large fashion shows such as New York, London, Paris and Milan fashion weeks are events where MAC products are used and tested years before they are launched to the public. In the course of a single year, MAC does backstage for about 840 fashion shows in 23 fashion weeks! For the upcoming fall season, MAC will test a new moisturizing lipstick, a brow gel and pencil, new moisturizers and palettes featuring the season’s coolest lip and eye shades.
