MAC Guo Pei Makeup Collection

MAC Cosmetics is joining forces with China’s most renowned haute couture designer, Guo Pei, to create a special, limited edition range of makeup products for Fall 2015.

Guo Pei, MAC’s most recent collaborator, has designed a 16-piece makeup collection, which arrives online and in stores later this year. Same as her haute couture creations that reflect a strong Oriental culture, Guo Pei makeup range features a unique blend of classic fantasy and modern avant-garde. As explained by the famous designer, the shades and textures are inspired by the colors of the universe. For her, blue is a color of the soul, and also a color that gives her a sense of power, so she chose to create azure blue eyeshadow and eyeliner. The shades for the lips are pink and coral, because they are evocative of happiness.

As announced by MAC, Guo Pei brings her legendary elegance to MAC in an inspired collection of hues, merging vibrant jewel tones with lush neutrals, punctuated by deep graphite. The products are packed in luxurious, limited edition gold-colored packaging, with a special floral-motif graphics. The design mirrors her recent fashion collection which exemplifies her strong inclination towards diverse colors, and vivid florals, as well as her fascination by the power of the nature. As she explained, the source of her inspiration is a famous Chinese saying: “There is a kingdom in a flower; a wisdom in a leaf.”
