MAC is launching a new makeup collection inspired by The Rocky Horror Picture Show movie from the 1975!

The Rocky Horror Picture Show, a musical comedy horror film directed by Jim Sharman, is the most epic send-up and humorous tribute to the science fiction and horror movies from the 1930s up to the 1970s. The movie tells a story of a newly engaged couple that have a breakdown in an isolated area and must pay a call to the strange and bizarre residence of a transvestite Dr. Frank-N-Furter who is just hosting the most unusual party…

The Rocky Horror Picture Show, which is still considered a kind of a cultural phenomenon in both UK and USA, is now honored by MAC Cosmetics, which plans to release a full color cosmetics range devoted to the cult movie! MAC’s Rocky Horror Picture Show collection will be available online from September 29, and in MAC stores on October 2. As announced by the famous beauty brand, the range will consist of 21 stockkeeping units distinguished by its unique black packaging embellished with bright red lips and the movie’s signature logo.

In an interview for WWD, MAC’ senior vice president and creative director James Garer said that "The collection was inspired by the strong makeup looks of the film characters. It will be out just in time for Halloween, one of M•A•C’s favorite holidays.” The collection celebrates the 40th anniversary of the famous movie, and it brings a full range of hues and products specifically considered to recreate the looks of the favorite characters from the 1975 cult classic film. The collection will be available internationally from October 2014, in all countries worldwide excluding China.
