MAC x Chris Chang of Poesia Makeup Collection
Published: 2016-01-13 by Marina MilojevićMAC Cosmetics has just announced yet another of its exciting beauty collaborations. This time the cult-fave makeup brand is teaming up with the famous Chinese-American fashion designer Chris Chang.
Chris Chang, who is the founder and creative director of fashion line Poesia is known for her unique, glamorous, and extravagant style. Chang’s creations, which are distinguished by their clashing patterns, chromatic disharmony, and unexpected textures, are often inspired by the most unusual subjects. For example, her autumn/winter 2013 collection, was inspired by popular Qing dynasty-set soap opera The Legend of Zhen Huan.
In 2016, Chris Chang of Poesia goes one step further. This time, she creates a special limited edition makeup collection for MAC Cosmetics. As announced by the famous beauty brand, Chris Chang of Poesia puts an acid-soaked twist on MAC makeup with a line of vivid, cutting-edge colors inspired by the ancient Chinese art form named Kunqu. Kunqu, also known as Kunju, Kun opera or Kunqu Opera, is one of the oldest forms of Chinese opera. Kunqu opera makeup is very spare and elegant. It serves to transform the performers into the roles they are to play.
As you can see on this very first image teased by MAC earlier today, the packaging is really beautiful, with unique colors and captivating Chinese opera motifs on it. The collection is coming soon in 2016, so stay tuned for more information!
