Preview of Yves Saint Laurent Holiday 2011 Collection

In just a few days the luxurious Yves Saint Laurent brand will launch its Holiday 2011 collection. Yves Saint Laurent himself once said "If I were to keep just one item of clothes, it would be the tuxedo…", so it's no wonder that this elegant and iconic garment was the inspiration for the holiday collection.

The talented creator of this collection, Lloyd Simmonds put the highlight of the collection on the universally flattering black shade. “Black is a color. Without black there is no line. At Yves Saint Laurent, black is rebel, potent, yet all so elegant. It is alive, it is the supreme emotion. Its force comes from the interior. It is light itself.” says Lloyd.

The collection includes products for your eyes, face, lips and nails. You will notice that almost all eye shades are black so Lloyd gives advice on how to apply it: "The best thing is to choose your black and use it as a base, applied with a flat brush. The 'smoke' it with a round brush and blend until the edges are invisible."

Yves Saint Laurent Holiday 2011 Collection Palette Blanc Terriblement is a face highlighter palette which includes 3 almost white shades: shimmering silver, shimmering pink, shimmering violet infused with sparkling pearls to provide an amazing glow effect.

Yves Saint Laurent Holiday 2011 Collection Ombres 5 Lumieres Palette Noir Terriblement is a gorgeous holiday eyeshadow palette which includes 4 shades in black velvet, black silk, black moiré and black lamé plus a highlighter in white satin.

Both palettes are housed in a beautiful gold case, adorned by a pleated belt and embroidered with the Yves Saint Laurent logo. The belts can be worn around the wrist like a bracelet.

Yves Saint Laurent Holiday 2011 Collection Golden Gloss is a brilliant lip gloss infused with a complex of silky oils, including Nigella and Camelina oil which nourish and protect your lips, leaving them silky soft.
