Skinn Cosmetics Olive & Enzyme Body Polish - Product Review

I've recently been introduced to a brand called Skinn Cosmetics, when I was asked to review a couple of their products. Truth to be told, I never tried this line before, so I have decided to give these products a try and let you know how I like them.

Skinn Cosmetics is a premium skin care and color cosmetics brand established by a professional makeup artist Dimitri James. Dimitri, who is a licensed esthetician, worked as a makeup artist for some of the world's most renowned beauty brands including Estee Lauder, Chanel, Revlon, Lancôme and Borghese. He was also the national trainer for make-up artists and estheticians at the highly successful Adrien Arpel Salons and Spas, and the author of Becoming Beauty and Naughty Makeovers for Nice Girls.

With such a fruitful career in the beauty industry, it was natural for Dimitri to, as so many others have before him, launch his own product line. As an insider in the world's largest cosmetic houses, Dimitri found himself frustrated by the business formula they use: „Make a cheap product, put it in a fancy jar with a nice box and charge as much as possible.“ After realizing that he could never be able to change the rules of the game from within, he decided to establish his own brand that focuses on quality formulas rather than add campaigns, packaging, and department store counter space...

So what makes Skinn Cosmetics different? Apparently, the formulas incorporate the time-honored methods, pure natural ingredients, and the most advanced technology and delivery systems available today. The careful distribution strategy and devoid of excess packaging is what makes it possible for the brand to offer high-quality products at reasonable prices.

The first product I tried is the Skinn Cosmetics Olive & Enzyme Body Polish, which is a creamy body exfoliator designed to help you reveal smooth, moisturized, and brighter skin. The rich yellowish cream combines exfoliating powers of micronized olive stones with a powerful Papain enzyme, which is derived from papaya fruit. Papain acts as a skin softener, allowing the olive stones to gently remove dead cells from the top layer of the skin. It also possesses significant anti-inflammatory benefits, reduces swelling, and improves skin texture. The dual-phase formula also blends nourishing and conditioning Olive, Avocado, and Sunflower oil, as well as antioxidant Olive Polyphenols and Orange Oil.

The very first experience with using it has been very pleasant. This luxuriant cleansing treatment will definitely bring a touch of pampering extravagance to your bathtub. Its comforting scent, reminiscent of a rich, thick, lemon cream, will quickly fill your bathroom leaving you in a peaceful tranquility. The creamy, freshly scented formula, glides on smoothly to leave you with a clearer and calmer skin that feels like velvet.

The Skinn Cosmetics Olive & Enzyme Body Polish is a perfectly balanced body scrub with just about the right proportion of exfoliating and moisturizing ingredients, and with a pleasant and relaxing fragrance that is not too overwhelming. Unlike many similar products, this body scrub won’t leave a slippery layer of oil on your bathtub, but it will certainly make your skin noticeably softer and smoother. The texture is gritty enough to remove all of the dead skin gently, while the right amount of natural oils is just what it takes to replenish moisture without any mess. Because the scrub is based on olive stones and Papain, it doesn’t sting like some salt-based scrubs do. As an additional benefit, the product doesn't dissolve in your hands before you're finished exfoliating, like some sugar- or salt-based formulas do.

Even though body scrubs are commonly underrated, I would highly recommend this product to anyone. Not only this luxurious exfoliator will scrub away dull, dead skin, but it will also moisturize and give you an exceptional sensorial experience. The Body Polish will help you create a smooth, even base for self-tanner, while your post-wash moisturizer will be better able to penetrate and hydrate your skin.

The Olive & Enzyme Body Polish exfoliator is used on damp skin in the shower or bath. The product is not suitable for facial use, and it may be used up to three times per week. It retails at $37.50 for a 190ml tube. Skinn Cosmetics is available for purchase only through www.skinn.com, live televised home shopping, and exclusive, privately owned spas throughout North America.
