Chanel is launching two new skin-hydrating products named Chanel Hydra Beauty Crème Riche and Chanel Hydra Max Nourishing Lip Balm.

The new products are inspired by Miss Gabrielle Coco Chanel’s favorite camellia flower, which blooms during winter, when most other flowers have gone dormant. Camellia was a prominent motif of Coco’s creations, and it also served as her never-ending source of inspiration for bags, pendants and different pieces of jewelry. According to one romantic tale, Coco became obsessed with camellias after one was given to her by her polo-playing lover, Boy Capel.

Chanel Hydra Beauty Crème Riche and Chanel Hydra Max Nourishing Lip Balm are announced as everything that your skin will ever need to resist the cold weather and to rejuvenate before the spring. Both products are based on ultra-hydrating formula that features moisturizing powers of Camellia Alba PFA and the precious Camellia oil. Both products will be available for purchase at department and specialty stores, as well on chanel.com, starting from February 2014.

Chanel Hydra Beauty Crème Riche is suitable for all skin types and equally ideal for women of all ages. This cream is developed to deliver intense hydration and to coat the skin in a soft, fragrant veil enriched with the anti-oxidant properties of Blue Ginger PFA. Other key ingredients, derived from precious camellias, are said to reinforce the skin while restoring its natural elasticity, radiance and beauty. The 50ml jar (1.7 oz) is priced at $87. Chanel Hydra Beauty Nourishing Lip Care is a high-end lip balm that restores the suppleness to the lips, while delivering moisturizing benefits of Camellia Alba PFA and softening blessings of Camelia Oil. The Nourishing Lip Care balm is delivered in a 10ml tin (0.35 oz) and priced at $50.00.
