DTRT 2-in-1 Foaming Cleansing/Shaving Foam Review

SUMMARY: Face to Face is DTRT's soft, non-drying, foaming 2-in-1 cleanser/shave foam that washes away oil and dirt leaving skin hydrated and silky.

THE BRAND: South Korea's DTRT (Do the Right Thing) is a new men's skincare line free of harsh chemicals that prematurely age skin. The brand has quickly become a cult favorite with their pop-up shops, collaborations with trending artists, and social action campaigns.

USE: Three times a week (or more often if needed), work a quarter-sized dollop of cleanser into damp face and neck. Massage with circular motions to build up lather, then rinse with cold water.

I really liked the non-greasy, foaming texture of this cleanser. It definitely feels like a shaving cream that lathers as you wet it. I like the idea of the 2-in-1 approach so that I cut down on the number of chemicals I apply to my face. Anyhow, the real test of a cleanser is how my skin feels after use. I waited about 15-20 minutes to see if I would get that itchy, dry feeling and am happy to report that though I definitely needed a moisturizer after use of Face to Face, the drying wasn't too bad. I did notice, however, a bit of residue on my face after use.

AROMA & TEXTURE: Face to Face has almost no perceivable aroma although fragrance is indeed listed about halfway through the list of ingredients; the only thing I noticed was a slight hint of violet.

INGREDIENTS: Water, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Myristic Acid, Lauric Acid, Potassium Hydroxide, Triethanolamine, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, PEG-8, Potassium Cocoyl Glycinate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Polyquaternium-7, PEG-150 Distearate, Fragrance, Caprylyl Glycol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Disodium EDTA, Butylene Glycol, Salix Nigra (Willow) Bark Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Saponaria Officinalis Leaf Extract, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract, Phenoxyethanol, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Hydroxyethyl Ethylcellulose

PROS & CONS: Widely available; no strong aroma; 2-in-1 shaving/cleansing product; non-drying; paraben-free.

3-4 times the price of major supermarket brands; left a bit of "cleaning product residue" on my skin.
