MAC Cosmetics is teaming up with the Italian-Japanese fashion designer Nicola Formichetti for a brand new, panda-themed makeup collection. Having worked as the artistic director for the house of Mugler, the artistic director for the Italian fashion label Diesel, a fashion director for Uniqlo, and a fashion director of Vogue Hommes Japan, Formichetti established his own streetwear line of clothing named Nicopanda.
The vibrant new collection, which is also named Nicopanda, is said to be inspired by color and diversity. The emblematic panda packaging is filled with playful, cheeky hues such as chalky pinks, lavender purple, and midnight blue.
The collection represents creativity, diversity, and playfulness – it is both very fashionably sophisticated and youthfully casual. As designer explained: “The most important message is positivity.”
“Streetwear palettes get a whole new spin in the playful pastels of M∙A∙C Nicopanda. Created by fashion idol Nicola Formichetti, the irreverent New York-based brand bridges edgy punk and kawaii-cute funk.
