MAC x Charlotte Olympia Makeup Collection

MAC Cosmetics has just announced details of its new collaboration. This time, the famous cosmetics brand has joined its forces with British luxury shoe and accessory brand Charlotte Olympia. The two brands are teaming up for a retro glam makep collection, which is slated to launch in March 2016.

Jeams Gager, senior vice president and group creative director of MAC Cosmetics, expalined the collaboration like this: “Charlotte Olympia Dellal is not only a true talent in the design and fashion world, but also a timeless beauty whose products — infused with whimsy, color and fun — speak perfectly to the MAC aesthetic.... Her playful and stylish accessories are the ultimate inspiration for makeup; the playfulness and variety in the MAC Charlotte Olympia collection is one we can’t wait to share with the world.”

In the same interview for WWD, Gager also said that the inspiration for the collection comes from his “love of a bygone era that manifests itself in my day-to-day beauty look as well as featuring my design aesthetic.” The collection is designed to help you unleash your inner movie star. The collection evokes Old Holywood glamour, and Charlote Olympia designs which are strongly influenced by classical Hollywood cinema glamour, pin-up aesthetics, and movie stars from the 1940s and 50s.
