Ultrasun Face Protection 50+ Review

If you care about keeping your skin young, here's something you already know: protecting it against the damages caused by the sun is the most important thing you can do to keep your skin healthy and good looking. And if you want an opinion, using a great sunscreen is the first and crucial step. Now, finding your most adequate sun protection product is not an easy task. For specialized, specific and scientific protection, I always go to my favorite, the Swiss brand Ultrasun.

Why a brand from Switzerland for sun protection? It might not make immediate sense, but if you think that in Switzerland there is a greant ampout of snow and snowsports, it starts to be logic. Also, the Swiss lifestyle is wealthy by nature and travelling to far away beaches drenched in sun and heat is easy and accessible for many people. So, sun protection is something to worry about.

I have been spending all summer (by the way, I am in Portugal, it's almost the end of October and it's 30 degrees) using products from the Ultrasun range. They have face, hands and body products that are specific to different problems and target different needs, having also sun protection for babies and children. I will tell you later about the body sunscreens, but today I want to focus on something that is not beach related and is useful all year round. The Ultrasun SPF 50+ Anti-Pigmentation Face Gel.

Many times an urban face sunscreen is hard to find. I mean, one that really protects and at the same time doesn't leave your skin greasy or white. This does the trick and it also has anti-ageing ectoin. “A multi-talent for skin and mucous membranes. Ectoin® has many positive characteristics: Applied in humans, it protects the mucous membranes in the eyes, nose, lungs , mouth and throat. The skin is also sustainably protected from harmful effects of allergens, fine dust, temperature fluctuations or dehydration by Ectoin® increases the barrier effect of the skin” - source.

The Ultrasun Face 50+ Anti Pigmentation is an advanced combination of lamellar broad-spectrum SPF50+ protection with GSP-T for Infrared protection, Ectoin and innovative anti-pigmentation ingredients. According to Ultrasun, it “restores optimal moisture levels, reduces the appearance of sun-induced ageing (lines, wrinkles, larger pores). Features incredibly fast-absorbing, lightweight and non-greasy textures. Ideal for ultra sensitive skin prone to pigmentation (sun protection and moisturiser for face, neck and décolleté).” Regarding the effects I witnessed, all of the above is accurate and I am very happy with this product which I shall repurchase again and again. The only thing I have to warn you is not to be too hopeful in terms of improving the appearance of your skin spots. I mean the ones you already have. My skin spots always get worse in the summer and this year it was no different. So yes, it can prevent damage, but I think it does nothing to correct existing flaws. For that I think I am discovering a product from Lierac, which I will tell you about in a future article. Maybe using both in synergy will be heaven.
