Opium fragrance, created for Yves Saint Laurent by perfumers Jean Amic and Jean-Louis Sieuzac of Roure, is one of the most memorable, yet controversial perfumes ever created. This powerful oriental-spicy fragrance, designed in 1977, is described as an Homage to the women obsessed with YSL Haute Couture and Rive Gauche Prêt-à-Porter. In 2014, the Maison launched Black Opium, a new feminine fragrance described as a rock-and-roll take on the classic. Black Opium is said to emphasize the dark, mysterious side of the YSL Brand. The main chord of its composition is black coffee, followed by pink pepper, orange blossom, jasmine, vanilla, patchouli and cedar.
In May 2016, the house of Yves Saint Laurent continues the seductively intoxicating Black Opium saga and introduces Black Opium Dry Oil For Body and Hair, and Black Opium Shimmering Moisture Fluid For The Body. As announced by the brand, both products feature the same fragrance in which “the opening notes of adrenaline-rich coffee and the sweet sensuality of vanilla recline into the softness of white flowers for a modern, young, and vibrant interpretation of addiction.”
YSL Black Opium Dry Oil For Body and Hair is delicately fragranced with Black Opium’s signature notes. The oil, with its irresistibly smooth and non-greasy texture, awakens the senses and leaves the hair and skin feeling nourished and soft. A 3.4 oz bottle of the dry oil retails at $60.00.
YSL Black Opium Shimmering Moisture Fluid For The Body is a rich, moisturizing fluid with a hint of shimmer and recognizable, addictive Black Opium fragrance. The fluid instantly moisturizes the skin, while leaving a subtle veil of scented shimmer. A 6.6 oz tube retails at $50.00.
