Yves Saint Laurent’s Glossy Stain family expands to include some brand new Glossy Stain Undercoats and a very special Glossy Stain Guitar limited edition!

The Glossy Stain Undercoat (aka Vernis à Lèvres Glossy Stain Primary Colour Edition) is a limited edition lip color intended to be worn as a base coat. There are three shades, inspired by the CMYK color model, to choose from: cyan blue, magenta, and yellow! In theory, if you blend them together, they’ll completely absorb the entire visible spectrum of light, resulting in a deep shade of black!

In printing, the cyan, magenta and yellow components are used for color reproduction: cyan absorbs red, magenta absorbs green, and yellow absorbs blue. You could also get just about the same effect by using the Glossy Stain Undercoat with any of the classic Glossy Stain shades. Apply one layer beneath your favorite lip color to customize the tint, or wear alone for a bold lip! $36.00
