Burberry Cosmetics

Burberry is a British luxury fashion house, based in London, England. Its main focus is on ready-to-wear outerwear, fashion accessories, fragrances, sunglasses and cosmetics.

Burberry fashion brand was founded by Thomas Burberry in 1856, initially specializing in outdoor clothing. The innovative fabric of rainwear was invented in 1879 by Thomas Burberry. Its first London store at 30 Haymarket was opened in 1891. The famous Burberry trench coat began as the Tielocken, patented by Burberry in 1912.

As of 2012, Burberry directly operates fragrance and beauty, leading all product design, packaging and marketing activities. Angela Ahrendts,Chief Executive Officer, explained: "Directly operating fragrance and beauty is in line with our strategy of taking greater control over our brand. There are significant opportunities to accelerate the growth of this business over time, leveraging our infrastructure and that of existing key suppliers and distributors. We are very excited about fragrance and beauty becoming an important fifth product division for Burberry, as we more closely align it with our core business and brand positioning."
