Aerin for Neue Galerie - Berlin Nights Lipstick

Aerin Beauty is teaming up with the Neue Galerie for the second time. Earlier this year, in March 2015, Aerin cosmetics released a special Rose Balm Lipstick Set inspired by Gustav Klimt’s “The Woman in Gold.”  In October, in honor of the opening of “Berlin Metropolis: 1918-1933”, Aerin Beauty will launch the exclusive limited edition lipstick named “Berlin Nights.” The unique red shade will be presented during the gala opening event, on Thursday, October 1st. As explained by Lauder, this classic yet bold shade is inspired by the roaring 20's. The name „Berlin Nights“ evokes the independent and stylish women of Berlin’s Golden Age, evoking a feeling of intrigue and a night out in the dynamic city of Berlin.

Aerin Berlin Nights Lipstick features a luxurious formula with a shiny finish, but no gloss. It offers a buildable, medium coverage. The lipstick is packed in a gold-colored metal case, and delivered in a black custom box decorated with Christian Schad's portrait Lotte from 1927-28. The portrait is a representative of the “Neue Frau,” or New Woman, images created during this period. The modern women of Berlin were, at that time, depicted as active and engaged individuals, with conspicuous makeup and fashionable clothing. With her vibrant lipstick and a trendy bob haircut, the subject of “Lotte” (1927-28) was certainly a true representative of Berlin’s emancipated females. She was a friend of Schad, who worked as a milliner in a hat shop below his Berlin apartment.
