One of the most favorite french makeup brands, Bourjois Paris, is celebrating its 150th anniversary with an interesting collection that looks back on the brand’s rich history and its legacy.
To mark the occasion, Bourjois has released some interesting limited edition products and packagings, as well as a charming short movie. The tune playing in the background is a remix of Charles Trent’s "Y'a d'la joie," which is a nod to the slogan used by Bourjois in 1950’s: "Bourjois avec un J comme joie" - " Bourjois with a J for Joy."
Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush (£7.49 at Boots) will be enriched with four of their very first shades, while three of their best selling blushes will be offered in a limited edition anniversary cases. The re-launched shades are:- Velouté de Peche (from 1924)
- Rose Thé (from 1939)
- Rose Mandarine (from 1968)
- Rose Pompon (from 1988)
Bourjois is launching a collection of 15 new shades of mini nail lacquars to celebrate its 150th Anniversary. Each of the shades is inspired by a fragment from the history of the brand:
- 1863 Les Théâtres - Bourjois was born in the age of the theatre and the scenic arts. A pure dark red inspired by the shade of stage curtains.
- 1870 Java - The creation of Java rice powder, an essential product at the time. The green of the Java powder case is revisited in a fresh and lively version for 2013, without pearl extracts.
- 1890 Manon Lescaut - Bourjois created a new chapter with the first compact complexion powder, Manon Lescaut. A slightly iridescent nude beige, a tribute to the Manon Lescaut powder.
- 1913 Cendre de roses - The key Cendre de Roses shade joined the range of iconic Little Round Pots. A vintage pink that revisits the famous woody pink of Centre de Roses blush.
- 1928 Soir de Paris - Dazzling success of Soir de Paris fragrance, created by Ernest Beaux. A deep mid night shade of blue with intriguing shimmers, inspired by the Soir de Paris bottle.

- 1938 Mais Oui - The feminine and elegant Mais Oui fragrance marked the start of the love affair between Bourjois and Pink. A soft pink highlighted by silvery pearl shimmers, inspired by the world of Mais Oui.
- 1950 Bourjois with a J for Joy - “Bourjois with a J for Joy”: a poetic invention to avoid confusion of Bourjois with “bourgeois”. Orange, the colour of joy, is included into the collection. A pure high energy lacquer not to be missed.
- 1956 Rouge Fidèle - The legendary, brilliant and long-lasting Rouge Fidèle lipstick was born. A deep raspberry red, without a pearl effect, conjuring up Rouge Fidèle.
- 1980 Little Round Pot - The year of colour! Little Round Pots made their way onto eyelids with their broad range of colours. A bright and intense blue, without pearl extracts, a tribute to Bourjois, the colour creator.
- 1995 Grains de beauté - The Grains de Beauté shower gel line brightened up bathrooms. An iridescent pale pink, an allusion to the famous “Bonheur en Mousse”.

- 2001 Coup de Théâtre - A new act on the mascara scene: Bourjois invented the first double-ended mascara, Coup de Théâtre! An intense, very glittery black, ideal for a dramatic stage entrance.
- 2002 Effet 3D lipgloss - Lips become luscious and shine from a new angle with Effet 3D lipgloss. A voluptuous fuchsia inspired by the Framboise Magnific shade of Effet 3D Gloss.
- 2006 Clubbing - Volume Clubbing Mascara lasts until the end of the night and marks the début of the Clubbing era! A sparkling gold in the 2013 metallic trend, ideal for evenings out!
- 2007 1 Second - Bourjois created the 1 Seconde nail enamel: quicker application means more time for fun! A true purple, pure colour effect. The younger sister of 1 Seconde Figue Chic and Lavande Esquisse enamels.
- 2013 Happy birthday! - 150 years old and hasn’t aged a day… Happy birthday Bourjois!
There will also be (at least) two 6-pack sets of mini nail polish named Pink Passion and Color Pop.
