At the Spring-Summer 2017 Ready-to-Wear show that took place on October 4th, 2016 at the Grand Palais in Paris, Chanel gave us a glimpse at the biggest of the spring makeup trends for 2017. The brand has also announced its upcoming Chanel Coco Code makeup collection, which is slated for January release.

The Spring 2017 makeup range, aptly dubbed Coco Code, traces the same line of inspiration as Karl Lagerfeld’s imaginative ready to wear collection. For the upcoming spring, Lagerfeld turned retro-futuristic, and managed to successfully combine Chanel’s timeless elegance with tech-inspired digital graphics and wearable electronics.

Inspired by tech wires and cable cords, Lagerfeld made a leap into the future with a youth-focused collection aimed at the next generation of Chanel fans. The famous designer flirted with a cyber-chic motif by pairing laser optic prints with delicate lingerie pieces, or classic tweed skirt suits that looked to be knit from cables. The accessories were also out of this world, from tiny clutches adorned with glittery circuit boards, to handbags with flashing LED lights and caps with exaggerated peaks.

The retro-futuristic appeal of the collection is most noticeable in a cosmetic range that focuses on soft pinky hues. The beauty look is strongly influenced by the 80’s trends. Backstage, Tom Pecheux traced peach of pinky blush in a "C" shape, from the top of the temple down to the cheekbone.

A youthful flush that envelops the face is paired with similarly-toned shiny pink lips and voluminous, low side ponytails.

To make the eyes even more pronounced and bright, Pecheux applied silver highlights in the center of the eyelids.
