Makeup trends come and go, but there is one true classic that seems to last forever – the red lip. This feminine lipstick shade stands as the ultimate piece of beauty iconography, as it creates a glamorous appearance in just one swipe. Finding the perfect nuance may seem to be the hardest task, so Lucia Pica, Chanel beauty wizard and makeup artist, curated the perfect red lippie edit to spice up your holiday season.
The upcoming Chanel Libre Numéros Rouges Collection is all about the supremacy of the red. The glamorous festive range includes no less than four different nuances of the classic red lipstick – each tailored for a different skintone/undertone combo. The classic black packaging has also been revamped so now it features a ruby red exterior with extravagant gold detailing.
The red lipstick is available in two of Chanel’s iconic formulas Chanel Rouge Allure (01, 04) and Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet (02, 03). Both are intense, long-wearing lip colors with full coverage. The classic Rouge Allure creates a satin finish, while the Rouge Allure Velvet lipstick gives a sumptuously soft, velvet matte finish.
Luca Pica has also proposed a matching makeup collection, curated around the four lipsticks. The central piece of the range is a gorgeous eyeshadow quintet of shades, Les 5 Ombres Palette #700 Trait de Caracteere, that go from a nude pink to dusty silver, aubergine, woody brown, and emerald green.
The Chanel Joues Contraste Blush is available in a popping orange red, named 380 So Close, while the Ombre Premiere Creme Eye Shadow arrives in a dusty brown shade named 822 Silver Screen.
The Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Eyeliner is offered in a woodsy green shade named 857 Legendary Green, while Le Volume de Chanel Mascara arrives in a rich burgundy shade named 37 Character.
For a quick change in texture, Chanel also offers its Rouge Coco Gloss in two beautiful shades of red:
- 782 True – bright coral, and
- 784 Romance – rich red.
Last but not least, Chanel Le Vernis arrives in three seasonal shades for perfectly coordinated lips and tips:
- 580 Celebrity – Black
- 582 Fiction – Emerald
- 604 Scenario – bright coral
