The house of Chanel, and its Global Creative Makeup and Color Designer Lucia Pica, have given us a sneak peek at their up and coming Fall/Winter makeup collection for 2017. The Italian-born makeup artist, known for bringing a cool new vibe to Chanel, has envisioned and designed a range of beautiful new products inspired by warm Californian landscapes.

To find inspiration for this exciting new launch, Pica embarked on a road trip through California. As she explained: “You can be inspired by a photograph that already exists, but creating your own inspiration gives another dimension to the process – it gets much more exciting…”

Chanel’s Fall/Winer collection is something like a travel diary from Pica’s journeys. It encapsulates the shades and colors of the real world, from the sun-drenched Californian coastline, to dazzling city lights, and concrete boulevards in the heart of Los Angeles, where her journey ended.
The star product of the collection is Chanel Palette Essentielle, a multi-purpose face palette combining three creamy formulas: a concealer, a shimmer-free highlighter, and a blusher. The largest pan houses a balm-like concealer, which can be used to blur imperfections, create a fine soft-focus finish, or for touch-ups throughout the day. The densely pigmented coral blush doubles as a lip color.
The palette is envisioned as an ultimate makeup product for effortless beauty. It comes in three colorways:
- Beige Clair,
- Beige Médium,
- Beige Intense

For the eyes, Lucia Pica has chosen to create warm eyeshadow hues inspired by the intense aquatic nuances of the Californian ocean. The new Chanel Les 4 Ombres eyeshadow palettes are offered in two colorways: City Lights (ocean blues), and Road Movie (shimmering purples).
