Christian Louboutin Lip Color

The famous shoe designer Christian Louboutin has just extended the offering of his beauty franchise. The Christian Louboutin Beauté brand, which debuted last year with a couple of luxurious nail lacquers, has just announced the launch of new, ultra-glamourous Lip Colors. 

September sees the launch of Christian Louboutin Lip Color range, which comprises no less than 38 gorgeous lipsticks, and 36 shades. The central place is reserved for Louboutin’s signature shade of red, which is repeated in three different finishes - Velvet Matte, Sheer Voile, and Silky Satin. While each Rouge Louboutin shade comes in a black lacquer case, evocative of Louboutin's famous red-soled shoes, the rest of the range is presented in golden packaging. The decorative cap is finished with a small ring through which a satin ribbon is strung. This way, each lipstick may double as a necklace or a charm…

The colors and textures are inspired by Louboutin handbags and shoes, and they come is beautiful cases of truly unique design. As Louboutin describes them: "This precious object will be coveted by others. Suggesting a purse full of rare and precious stones that could have been discovered in Ali Baba's cave, it will arouse lust and desire...and is made to be stolen… After the eyes, lips represent the most expressive element of the face. And there’s the fetish appeal, because lipstick can transform a face from intense to naive or even dangerous. When a woman carries a handbag, we look at her shoulders. When she slips on a pair of heels, we observe her walk. If she applies lacquer to her nails, we admire her hands. With its slow, circular application, lip makeup becomes a rich and sensual gesture"

The Silky Satin range, which comprises 20 colors, offers medium-to-full-coverage with a satin finish and bit of a shine. The Velvet Matte range includes 9 highly-saturated shades with a soft, matte finish. The Sheer Voile range offers nine sheer shades with luminous shine.

The Christian Louboutin Lip Color will debut at Saks on September 1st. Each shade will retail for a staggering $90.
