Clarins is launching a new skin-care range named Clarins White Plus Total Luminescent. The collection is developed to promote fairer and more even skin.

The line is developed after an elaborate research on skin’s optical properties. Spokesmen of the Clarins Laboratories have described their discoveries in a statement that “the skin is like a mirror made up of millions of “micro-mirrors” at every layer.” The products of this collection are designed to promote healthy looking radiance and rosy transparency, as if the skin is lit from within. The full range will be available starting from March 2013.

The research has shown that skin has an interesting property to absorb the light, while about 4-7% of this light is reflected on its surface. The rest of it penetrates the skin and interacts with its inner structures. Those micro-mirrors found in the skin are responsible for its natural radiance, and Clarins White Plus Total Luminescent targets these very structures that can otherwise be damaged by external and skin’s inner metabolism.

The brand has developed a unique Trans-Luminescent Complex to help revive the skin’s luminescence layer by layer, making it able to reflect total luminescence. After regular use, the skin will appear more fair, translucent and rosy. The formula blends hyaluronic acid which seals-in moisture and increases skin’s capacity to reflect light + 94% hydration after 2 hours of use. Sandspurry extract is added to affect all four steps of melanin production while the Alchemilla extract reinforces the sandspurry effect and controls melanosome transfer to keratinocytes. Ginkgo biloba extract are added to boost healthy microcirculation and preservation of skin’s cells.

The full range includes six new products:

Clarins Intensive Brightening Serum for fairer, more even skin with ultimate translucency and healthy-looking, rosy luminescence.
Clarins Brightening Hydrating Emulsion, a milky emulsion that boosts radiance
Clarins Brightening Soft Aqua-Milk, a soothing milky skincare lotion which softens the skin. This product is ideal for dry skin types and for use during the winter months.
Clarins Brightening Pure Aqua-Lotion, reviving and refreshing formula for ultimate relaxation. It soothes the skin and works great for combination skin and in hot climates.
Clarins Pearl-to-Cream Brightening Cleanser, a foaming pampering cream for ideal cleansing and fresh feeling.
Clarins All Spots Brightening Corrector, for targeted application and concealing various types of skin’s imperfections and blemishes.
