Clarisonic Alpha Fit – face cleansing specifically for men
Clarisonic has just unveiled its very first cosmetic tool designed specifically for men. The new cleansing brush, named Alpha Fit, is launching today. The brush, as Dr. Robb Akridge, cofounder and president at Clarisonic, explained, Alpha Fit target’s men’s resilient skin. What makes it different from all kinds of similar products is that it provides more vigorous cleansing, which is what men need, especially in the beard area. A brush works in two different modes – one for bearded skin, and one for shaven skin. The bearded skin mode offers more energetic cleansing that helps lift up all the hairs and dead skin found at the base, so that men gets a softer beard, or a smoother shave.

The shape of the Alpha Fit brush mimics a barber brush. Its compact, waterproof, orb-shaped body, features a special brush head made of DuPont soft elastomer filaments that are rounded at the end. The brand has also offered a complementing cleanser the Alpha Fit Cleanse, with a gel-like texture formulated with skin-stimulating fruit acids, aloe, caffeine and ginseng. The sulfate-free formula helps clean, recharge, and exfoliate men’s skin.
Both products are aimed at women who are buying for their men and the early adopters who are into tech and gadgetry. As Akridge charmingly explains in his interview for WWD: “We know that the men have secretly been stealing the Clarisonic from their girlfriends and their wives. They get caught and usually what happens is they buy another brush head or the women in their lives buy the unit for them or give them the old one and they take the new one.”

The Alpha Fit brush is priced at $189. The interchangeable brush heads are $27, while the kit containing the men's brush head and a 6 oz. cleanser retails at $47.
