Dior Diorskin Forever Undercover Foundation for Spring 2018

Earlier this year, backstage at the Ready-To-Wear Spring Summer 2018 Show, the house of Dior debuted a new foundation formula — Diorskin Forever Undercover. The new foundation is developed by Dior Makeup's creative director Peter Philips, who also used it to create an array of looks for the Spring 2018 show.

Maria Grazia Chiuri's fashion collection collection paid tribute to Niki de Saint-Phalle, a French artist from the 1960s who had close ties to the house of Dior. Because of the strong 60’s reference, Philips decided to put the focus on the lashes, which were fat and clumpy in contrast to flawless, natural looking skin.

In Philips’s own words, the best way to get this beautiful fresh complexion is to use Dior’s new Diorskin Forever Undercover 24-hour Full Coverage Foundation. The foundation is described as lightweight and very easy to wear. It also comes in a freshly designed packaging, a rectangular plastic bottle with a massive black cap. The best way to apply it is to prep the skin with a moisturizer and build a desired coverage using a sponge applicator or a foundation brush. The formula is buildable so you can take it anywhere from semi-transparent to full coverage.

The biggest difference between the classic Diorskin Forever Foundation and the new Diorskin Forever Undercover Foundation is that the new one isn’t matte. The foundation is much more buildable and it certainly looks much fresher once applied. Forever Undercover is also extremely long-lasting and yet comfortable to wear.

The water-based formula is saturated with a high amount of pigments, twice as much than classic foundations, so a little bit of it goes a long way. The foundation also promises a long-lasting, 24-hour hold even without the setting powder. A duo of powders present in the formula is responsible for a soft focus, blurring effect, and super-efficient shine-control.

Dior Diorskin Forever Undercover Foundation debuts in 29 shades, in January 2018. The price is yet to be announced. In the meantime, catch up on Dior's latest releases at Nordstrom, and Sephora.
