Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Nighttime Miracle Moisturizer
February 2014 sees the launch of Elizabeth Arden’s new Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Nighttime Miracle Moisturizer. The moisturizer is designed to complement your nighttime skincare ritual, and to treat your senses with calming and peaceful scent of lavender, which helps you relax and get a good night's sleep.
Elizabeth Arden’s Research and Development team have recognized that sleep deprivation has become one of the major health problems across the globe. A good night’s sleep is not only essential for our overall well-being, but it also features as an indispensable part of our skin’s healing process. A good, restful sleep boosts collagen levels, initiates cellular turnover and increases melatonin, our own body’s natural antioxidant. Using its 100 years old spa science approach to beauty, Elizabeth Arden has created this nighttime essential as an efficacious solution to wake up with radiant, healthy-looking skin. The winning formula is restorative skin products combined with a good night’s sleep.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Nighttime Miracle Moisturizer is based on a lightweight formula that is instantly absorbed. Only a small amount of the products is enough to replenish moisture levels of the skin and to keep it soft and well hydrated for up to 8 hours. This way, even if you don’t manage to get those 8-hours of sleep, your skin looks and feels like it has. You can also use more generous amounts of the moisturizer to restore suppleness to dry areas of the skin, or to protect your gentle hands, elbows or legs.

The active ingredient of the formula is Dimethicone, a smoothing silicone oil that ensures a smooth application of the formula, fills-in fine lines and wrinkles, and instantly creates smooth and flawless skin. Dimethicone also forms a protective layer on the skin to lock moisture in for a couple of hours and keep the skin well hydrated and protected from drying out. Even though the moisturizer is infused with small amounts of chemical exfoliator – salicylic acid, I would recommend that you use a good face scrub occasionally with this product. The formula itself is non-comedogenic, but if you use an exfoliator on the regular bases, you will prepare the skin to absorb more of the product and to enhance the performance of the moisturizer. One of the best gentle scrubs I have ever tried is also produced by Elizabeth Arden – the PREVAGE® Anti-aging Treatment Boosting Cleanser. The whole Prevage line has recently been revamped and it now features sleek and modern metallic packaging and advanced formulas developed to give you younger-looking and more beautiful skin.
The formula also incorporates a mixture of emollients and moisturizers, such as petrolatum and Shea butter, exfoliating salicylic acid, antioxidant vitamin E, and a pure botanical extract of Lavender. The formula is suitable for all skin types including sensitive, and the cream can be used every night, as a final step of the nighttime skincare regimen. The Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Nighttime Miracle Moisturizer is launching in February next year, exclusively at John Lewis. The cream is delivered presented in an opaque white and gray jar and decorated with the iconic Eight Hour® Cream repeating “8” pattern. The 1.6 oz /45g jar is priced at £32 or $39.00.
