EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW: Guerlain Belle de Nuit Holiday 2011 Collection

Oliver Échaudemaison, the Creative Director of Guerlain created an amazing and magical Holiday 2011 collection inspired by the legendary Guerlain fragrance Vol de Nuit.

The famous Vol de Nuit ("Night Flight") was composed in 1933 by Jacques Guerlain, and was named after the second book written by Jacques' close friend, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. This bold, oriental fragrance was created as a tribute to the most famous women aviators of his time. Comprised of woody, vanilla and powdery iris notes, Vol de Nuit was for a woman who laughs in the face of fear, for whom nothing is impossible.

Guerlain Belle de Nuit is a limited-edition collection which evokes the changing shades of the beautiful night sky. The daring tones are both dark and dramatic with mesmerizing iridescent accents, while the products are housed in elegant boxes which reveal the blue and black zebra motif found on the original Vol de Nuit box design. This sophisticated and enchanting collection will leave you completely breathless.

Guerlain Vol de Nuit Perfumed Shimmer Powder for Face & Body is a light and luminous powder which covers your skin with iridescent shimmer while being deliciously scented by a green and woody notes, softened by vanilla and iris. The universal pale pink shade is accentuated with blue-green and silvery hues which leave the face, body and hair sparkling. The bottle reinterprets the original Vol de Nuit, which was revolutionary at the time by being the first to combine glass and metal. The green-blue lacquered glass is adorned with graphics reminiscent of a propeller, conjuring up the image of a plane travelling across the starry depths.

Guerlain Parure de Nuit Pressed Powder & Blush is a lightly, violet fragranced skin-enhancer which features pale pink, white, deep pink and blue green colors, topped with an iridescent and translucent sheen. Parure de Nuit works both as a powder and a blush, forming a universal harmony which gives your face an instant glow. The black lacquer case contains an extremely soft goat-hair brush.

Guerlain Meteorites Perles de Nuit is a gorgeous highlighting powder designed to give your face a stunning glow and radiance. The formula features five perfectly smooth pearls to correct, illuminate and even out the skin. Pink pearls capture light, white illuminate the complexion, gold reflect light, orange boost radiance and silver pearls add shimmer without whitening the skin.

Guerlain Les Ombres de Nuit 4-Colour Palette is a gorgeous eye palette which features an iridescent texture of green, blue and grey pearlescent particles which release luminous color, providing an extremely metallic finish, while an extra-matte black shadow offers an incredibly precise and intense liner effect.

Guerlain Belle de Nuit Rouge Automatique is an elegant lipstick which provides long-lasting, feather-proof and rich colour combined with easy and quick application. The formula is infused with sensory oils and waxes which provide an extremely fine layer of colour which melts onto your lips like a second-skin texture. The Cristal Pigment allows you to choose the intensity and shine of your colour, and at last a complex of oil and resin provides long-lasting hold, radiance and comfort. The lipstick is delicately fragranced with fresh and floral notes associated with warmer base notes of vanilla and tonka beans, a signature of Guerlain.
