Garnier Olia Ammonia-Free Hair Color

Garnier’s ammonia-free at-home hair color – Olia – will enter the USA market in January 2013. Garnier Olia is formulated to provide maximum color performance while being very mild, gentle and helping to maintain hair quality.

Garnier Olia was first introduced to European market, in September 2012. The line consists of 24 different shades of which the majority falls into the brown group. There are two black shades, ten shades of brown, five reds and seven blondes. Garnier is a beauty company owned by L’Oréal Paris, so it is safe to say that the new Olia line employs a technology similar to Inoa, which is L’Oréal Professionnel’s hair color designed for professional use. Olia is something like an at-home version of Inoa, an oil-based product that contains natural oils from sunflower, passion flower, camellia and meadow foam. The shade palette is also huge and designed with one thing on mind: to give the consumers feeling and options they would normally get in the professional salon.

The formula is based on an ammonia-substitute called monoethanolamine, which helps the color to penetrate the hair with minimal disruption to the shaft. The product is oil-based and it has a pleasant floral fragrance which blends sweet, woody and citrus notes.

Garnier Olia Ammonia-Free Hair Color retails at $9.99.
