Get Your Perfect "Footloose" Look

The remake of '80s classic "Footloose" was released a couple of days a go! This time, the star of the movie is Julianne Hough, starring as Ariel Moore.  The newcomer Kenny Wormald plays a city kid Ren MacCormack who moves from Boston to a small town of Bomont where rock 'n' roll and dancing have been banned, and his rebellious spirit shakes up the populace. Ren challenges the ban, and falls in love with the minister’s troublesome daughter Ariel. And she looks simply amazing! Today we help you recreate her sweet girl-next-door-look with SalonPerfect strip lashes:

1. Start by lining the eye with a black liner – either pencil or a cream liner – and gently smash it between the lashes, being careful to not create a line on top of the lashes but really between them.

2. Next comes the star of this look: the lashes! Faux strip lashes are a quick and easy way to add volume to your lashes without the time of applying individual lashes. For a natural look like Ariel’s, try Salon Perfect Perfectly Natural 21 Black Strip Lashes; for a more dramatic look, Salon Perfect Perfectly Glamorous 212 Black Strip Lashes are a great buy. Starting at $3 and sold exclusively at Walmart stores nationwide, Salon Perfect lashes are an easy and affordable way to experiment with this look and so many others!

3. Apply mascara to the base of your real lashes to marry them with the faux lashes and get maximum length. Applying mascara after the faux lashes not only blends, but also allows the faux ones to lie closer to your real lashes and the adhesive to adhere better for a stronger hold. Avoid drawing the mascara all the way up the length of the lashes though as mascara applied too heavily to the faux lashes tends to clump.

4. Give skin a soft, sun-kissed look by applying a light wash of cream blush on the nose and apple of the cheeks. If you’re blessed with freckles, this is the look to let them shine through so go easy on the concealer!

5. Finish the look with a natural lip, lining with liner and a slick of gloss to refine the look.
