Giorgio Armani Madre Perla Holiday 2011 Collection | Exclusive Preview
Here is a sneak-peek into the brand new Giorgio Armani Madre Perla 2011 Holiday Collection. The collection hasn't been officially unveiled yet but, as always, we’re working hard to bring you all the hottest news and previews. Judging by the promotional image, which shows beautiful Megan Fox in a sophisticatedly elegant fashion, the new line is inspired by the classic elegance of the 1930’s, luxury and delicacy.
Madre perla, nacre, or the mother of pearl, is a beautiful iridescent composite material produced in the inner shells of marine mollusks. It has been used over many centuries for all kinds of decorative purposes. Madre perla is used for buttons, jewelry, and it is also a material that makes up pearls. The color of natural pearl reflects the initial spark of inspiration throughout this collection – subtle reflections, iridescent effects, rich luxury and rare natural beauty.
Armani Cosmetics' Creative Director, Linda Cantello speaks about the collection: “Like a 1930s' boudoir, a touch of lacquer and patinated metals adds a sophisticated feel to satiny, pearlescent tones. Delicate shades reminiscent of the silk lingerie of the time."
And here is what’s included:
The Face & Eye Palette is inspired by Art Deco style. It comes in a luxurious black case adorned with natural Madre Perla and embossed with a silver logo. The Face Palette contains three luminous powders in sand, champagne, and aqua. The shades can be blended together to create a natural texture and radiant color, or used separately to sculpt or illuminate.
Face Palette & Eyes Palette & Gloss d'Armani
The Eye Palette offers a slightly metallic ivory, lavender, and taupe trio. These limited edition palettes are issued in 3,000 pieces and will retail for $98, exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue and at the Armani Beauty Web site. Less exclusive variant comes in a classic black lacquer case and it will retail for $59.
Gloss d’Armani comes in four bold and feminine shades. All of the shades are offered in a limited edition: iridescent rosewood, velvety red, sienna, and bold amethyst.
Eyes to Kill Intense Shadow is now available in a limited edition of three subtle metallic shades: gold, silver plutonium and an intermediate shade obtained by blending gold and silver. The shadows are creamy, they do not contain any powder, and they are totally resistant to humidity and heat. The formula stays true for up to 24 hours. Eyes to Kill Intense shadow will retail for $32.
The collection, exclusive to Saks and Armani Beauty online, launches in November.
