Guerlain announces a new mascara, which is about to launch in January 2012. The mascara, dubbed Noir G de Guerlain, is packaged in a refillable compact with a pop-up mirror. The sleek black lacquered packaging reminds of the brand’s Rouge G lipstick, which was also designed by Lorenz Bäumer.
The black is chosen for the packaging since it reflects the color of the product it contains. The mascara is refillable and the liquid formula and brush are changeable together. The formula is based on a blend of waxes carefully chosen to add a lot of volume, coat the lashes from all sides and firm them up. The new-generation Ultra Black pigments are also added to magnify the intensity and depth of the shade. The formula also promises a lot of length and perfect curl, while carefully chosen ingredients nourish and regenerate your lashes. It also smells lovely, scented with nuances of peach, rose, jasmine and white musk. As you can see on the image, the brush is round and made of flexible fibers. Only available in black.
The mascara and compact together will retail for $49, and the refills are priced at $26. In the United States the mascara will become available in Dec. 26 at Saks Fifth Avenue, and roll out nationwide in early January (Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, Sephora and Bergdorf Goodman.)
