Illamasqua Scarab Collection

The house of Illamasqua has just announced the launch of its Scarab collection. Drawing inspiration from the ancient Egyptian traditions, Illamasqua launches a capsule collection dedicated to the mystical scarab.

To the Ancient Egyptians, the scarab was a symbol of Khepri, the early morning manifestation of the sun god Ra. Same as the scarab beetle rolls a ball of dung across the ground, Khepri rolls the sun across the sky – accordingly, the Egyptians held the scarab beetles to be sacred.

Earlier this year, as part of its May Queen collection, Illamasqua introduced its new Beyond Powder in a limited edition shade named Deity. The highlight that caused a frenzy, a unique greenish gold shimmer that adds a subtle warmth to any complexion, shortly became the sell-out phenomenon.

The upcoming Scarab Collection pays homage to yet another divinity. This time, it is Khepri, the god of rebirth and sunrise. This summer, Beyond Powder is reincarnated in a dazzling golden shade with a metallic, iridescent finish. Illamasqua honors the solar deity with a beautiful new highlighter named Dynasty. Dynasty is designed to capture the heat of sun’s rays and bring a healthy warmth to a range of skin tones.

The Scarab Collection is launching on June 22nd, in all stores. In addition to the Beyond Powder in Dynasty, it also includes Illamasqua’s unisex fragrance Freak Scarab Extrait De Parfum, a decadent blend of blood orange, ylang ylang, Egyptian jasmine, and Mousse de Saxe. The fragrance is priced at $105.00, while Beyond Powder in Dynasty majestic gold retails for $45.00
