Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge R the New Ruby-Shaped Lipstick

Beauty brand Lancôme has just announced the launch of the brand new L’Absolu Rouge lipstick. The newcomer to the popular lipstick range is said to be inspired by rubies, hence the name L’Absolu Rouge R. Ruby is a pinky-red colored gemstone, and each of the 12 shades of the new lipstick reflects one of its many facets. The lipstick bullet has also been reinvented, it is more angular and shaped to resemble a finely cut ruby.

The L’Absolu Rouge R lipstick arrives in a limited edition packaging adorned with an angular geometric motif, with alternating polished and brushed surfaces, and Lancôme’s traditional gold-colored elements. Three of the shades: a vibrant red, a burgundy red, and a rosy brown, are presented in color-coordinated packaging.

The remaining nine shades are presented in classic black cases, finished in the same way as the colored cases. The lineup includes a full rainbow of ruby inspired shades, from neutral pink, to nudes, mauves, and classic reds.

Lancôme’s new L’Absolu Rouge R is said to be formulated with genuine ruby-derived ingredients and 25% more pigment compared to the original L’Absolu Rouge formula. The payoff is bold, consistent, and extremely long wearing. The formulation also includes some skin-loving ingredients, so it moisturizes lips making them plump and soft.
