Lipstick Queen revisits the popular trend from the 80's and brings green lipstick back to vogue!
Being a child of the seventies, I still clearly remember the weird mood lipstick trend of the 80's, and widely popular vibrant green lip colors in gold-colored studded cases. Even though it looked quite bizarre and shocking, the green lipstick actually applied as a lovely reddish pink, and it looked different on everyone – depending on one’s unique body chemistry. Later I learned that green lipstick didn't contain any actual green color pigments, but rather an ingredient called Red 27, which appears colorless when dissolved in a waterless base. Once applied, the pigment reacts with moisture and pH of our lips, which awakens the color… The exact hue varies from person to person, depending on the skin’s acidic or basic levels.
This spring, Lipstick Queen presents the Frog Prince, a stunning emerald green lipstick that transforms into a magical rosebud pink as it touches the lips. Same as the “mood lipstick” of the 80's, the Frog Prince reacts with our body chemistry and results in a unique, fully custom shade that perfectly fits our complexion. The formula is enriched with nourishing Vitamin E and Shea Butter, to keep the lips soft and moisturized.
Lipstick Queen Frog Prince lipstick is priced at $25.00, and it is currently available for purchase only at Space.NK apothecary.
