MAC announces Aaliyah for MAC makeup collection

MAC Cosmetics have just announced that a very special Aaliyah makeup line is coming in 2018! The famous beauty brand honors the late R&B icon on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of her death.

Aaliyah Dana Haughton was an American singer, actress, and model who died on August 25, 2001, in a plane crash in the Bahamas after filming the music video for the single "Rock the Boat". Dedicated fans have launched a petition, two years ago, to urge MAC to create a special makeup line in tribute to the “Queen of Urban Pop.” On Tuesday, coinciding with the anniversary of Aaliyah’s death, the company finally announced that it was happening.

Aaliyah for MAC makeup collection is set to launch in summer 2018. Details of the collection are yet to be announced. Just for the record, last year, across the United States, MAC Cosmetics made a huge success with a collection dedicated to the late American singer Selena Quintanilla.
