MAC Cosmetics is just about to launch a mythically charged makeup collection designed in collaboration with Chinese fashion designer Min Liu!
Min Liu, is one of the leading talents of the second generation of luxury fashion designers in China, and also founder of the Ms Min fashion label. This spring, she’s teaming up with MAC Cosmetics for a gorgeous new capsule collection inspired by Chinese traditional motifs and colors.

As Min Liu poetically explained: “The inspiration that guided this collaboration came from an ancient masterpiece about Chinese mythology, culture, spirituality, and folklore in the presence of nature. Energy, like beauty in fashion, flows and shifts over time. I find fashion and beauty to be the collision of personal expression of self, today being different than tomorrow, capturing our ying and yang, and the discovery of our quiet and our riot.”

For MAC Cosmetics Senior Vice President/Creative Director, James Gager, it looks like a particular piece of fabric inspired the collection: „When we first met, she brought a piece of fabric with indomitable red, deep peony pink and metallic details, which became the centerpiece of the collection’s design. It’s been a joy to partner with Min to create a subtle and elegant collection. I can’t wait to show the entire world the result!”

The flow of energy, which inspires the collection, is represented through the choice of colors and the designs imprinted on the products.
The central piece of the palette is the Pearl Matte Face Powder in First Waves, featuring a crashing wave design rendered in red, pink, and highlighting powders. We're not sure what else is coming yet, but, according to a promotional image teased by MAC it looks like there will be some liquid lip colors, decorated with Chinese tassels, at least one lipstick, and a small duo compact with two cream pigments.

Min Liu for M.A.C collection arrives at MAC counters and stores on April 14, 2017. Stay tuned for more information, as it becomes available.
