MAC Cosmetics is launching a new range of its trendy matte lipsticks. The upcoming summer welcomes no less than nine new shades of matte and retro matte lipsticks, which will be available for purchase from late May.
For those of you who are not familiar with the differences in MAC finishes, let me first note that MATTE lipsticks have no sheen, as they give off just opaque matt coverage, which typically lasts longer than most other MAC formulas. The RETRO MATTE, on the other hand, is inspired by the legendary Ruby Woo shade. Its unique texture is extremely long wearing and highly pigmented, while the formula provides no hydration at all. The Retro Matte lipsticks may stay on your lips for up to six hours, without any type of shine.

Matte lipsticks are very flat looking, they do not give any dimension, any shimmer, but they are the best in color intensity and super-saturated. I’d recommend using a matte shade whenever you want to look more sophisticated. However, matte textures have a tendency to highlight all the flaws of your lips, so you’ll need to prepare them and make them smooth and soft before applying a lipstick. You should simply exfoliate and moisturize your lips to avoid that awful cracked on effect, and avoid any rubbing what so ever.
MAC the Matte Lip Collection for Summer 2015 is launching online on May 28th. The products will hit the shelves around North America on June 11th, before they launch internationally in August 2015. All of the shades from the Matte Lip range are permanent.
