The famous makeup brand is celebrating 25 years of supporting its MAC AIDS Fund exclusively by the sales of the VIVA Glam lipsticks and glosses. The face of the campaign, which has been unveiled a couple of days ago, is Winnie Harlow.
For this special occasion, MAC and Harlow recreated VIVA Glam’s first campaign that featured drag artist RuPaul.
The celebration is followed by some significant changes in the MAC AIDS Fund. Most importantly, the Fund is renamed after VIVA Glam and the fund had expanded its focus to include LGBTQ organizations and mental health awareness.
A great number of VIVA Glam initiatives will take place throughout the year, such as those at the Met Gala in May, Love Ball in June, Life Ball in July, and World AIDS Day in December.
And what about the lipstick? For this special occasion, MAC is re-releasing its first ever shade from 1994, an intense brownish blue-red, in an exclusive sparkling red packaging with pink interior. As always, the VIVA Glam 25th Anniversary Lipstick is priced at $18.50 and every cent of its selling price goes toward helping people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
