The famous American fashion designer, and the owner of the namesake beauty brand, has just released a special new capsule collection inspired by the beauty looks from the Marc Jacobs Fall 2017 runway. The collection includes four different items, two nail polishes, one lip crème, and a mascara/eyeliner set. These limited-edition offerings were created backstage at the Marc Jacobs Fall 2017 fashion show, where Jacobs’ lead makeup artist Diane Kendal custom blended each of the shades.
Marc Jacobs' seasonal RTW collection is inspired by the early years hip-hop, or more precisely by a documentary called Hip-Hop Evolution, so everything, from styling, to accessories, clothes, and the look, evokes a bold, daring street style of the 70’s. The runway was stripped down to its bare essentials, so there was no music, no crazy hairstyles, no polished makeup, and no phone photography permitted! See for yourself:
The whole collection has a cool, laid-back, 70’s vintage vibe, which reflects in warm, neutral colors. The inspiration for the show was real people, the street culture of New York, which meant very little in the way of makeup. Diane Kendal focused on a deep red lipstick, a bit of black or brown eyeliner smudged along the lashes, a simple black mascara, and two nail polish shades.
