NARS x Erdem Strange Flowers Collection

NARS cosmetics has just announced the launch of a gorgeous new capsule collection designed in collaboration with the Canadian and Turkish fashion designer Erdem Moralioglu.

While Nars has been responsible for the beauty looks for the designer’s shows since 2013, their first collaboration was unveiled during London Fashion Week at the designer’s fall 2018 show held at Tate Britain.

Erdem, who is known for his use of experimental textiles, lively prints, and attention to details, explored his aesthetic in collaboration with the makeup brand, channeling his passion for all things floral through a 13-piece color collection.

The range, which has been two years in the making, is said to be inspired by strange flowers.  The designer was personally involved in developing new pigments and palettes, and designing the pale blue, flowers-embossed packaging.

Highlighting Pencil in White Phox

Erdem for NARS collection includes six lipsticks in both neutral and bold shades, a pearlescent Highlighting Pencil named White Phox, a box of blotting papers, two eyeshadow palettes, two exclusive blushers, and the Lip Powder Poison Rose Palette – something that NARS has never produced before.

As described by Erdem himself, the Lip Powder Palette gives the effect of stamped-on, really matte lips: “They remind me of my mother who would always wear a red lip as a sign she was ready to go out and face the world.”

The NARS for Erdem collection will be available exclusively at Selfridges from April 15 and elsewhere from May 1 2018. The price range is 15 GBP for blotting papers to 35 GBP for the palettes. NARS cosmetics is available for purchase at Nordstrom and Sephora.
