Pat McGrath Labs Launched its First Makeup Product Gold 001
Pat McGrath has finally launched her much anticipated Gold 001! The famous makeup artist, who has designed some of the most sought-after products for major beauty brands including Max Factor, Dolce & Gabbana, Giorgio Armani Beauty, Aveda, Dior, and Cover girl, has finally launched that sparkling gold most versatile paint we all noticed at this year's runway show.
The Pat McGrath Gold 001 is only a first product in a full cosmetic line, which is expected to hit the shelves in late 2016. Pat's new brand, named Pat McGrath Labs, is said to be a platform to offer various new individually numbered, limited edition and limited run products, which will, most probably, coincide with McGrath's seasonal inspiration.

Speaking about her new project, McGrath said: “I was in the labs, working on my [full] line, and I saw this incredible gold... This is something I couldn’t sit and wait a year for. That will be the kind of platform Pat McGrath Labs will offer... The ability to bring something to market very quickly, often isn’t possible with large companies, and I love the idea of launching something fast. That’s the way the world moves now. I feel like I’m breaking all the rules and being true to me. I want it not only to be exciting for the consumer, but have it be exciting for me as well. ”
The Pat McGrath Gold 001 is available exclusively at patmcgrath.com, since noon today. The product is a highly malleable formula composed of uniformly sized micropigments mixed with squalene, a chemical that ensures smooth, gliding texture. The pigment can be used to create a gilded glaze anywhere on the body. One could use it wet or dry, for desired intensity that goes from opaque to sheer. Gold 001 can be used as a body paint, as a blush, a lipstick, or as an eyeliner. One can also apply it all over the lid, or use on top of a shadow.
The Pat McGrath Gold 001 is delivered in glassine filled with gold sequins. The packaging also includes a “second-life container,” Mehron Mixing Liquid and a metal spatula. The additional container is there to help in all those cases when the original container break – because the formula is volatile, one can just scoop it into the other container. The product is applied using a brush dampened with mixing liquid. Depending on the amount of liquid one uses, the finish may go from intense molten gleam to a sheer golden shimmer. The spatula should be used to break and smash the pigment, and store it in a second life container.

Only 1,000 pieces of Gold 001 are available for purchase, and customers are limited to one apiece. The second Pat McGrath Labs product may be released in December 2015. The Pat McGrath Gold 001 will be on sale from 10.29.15. You can preview it here.
