Pura Naturals Soap Infused Sponges - Product Review

A couple of days ago, I introduced you to the world's first aromatherapy diffuser for the shower, named ESSIO, which is, basically an essential oil diffuser that hooks on the shower to release a special blend of essential oils. Today, we’ll take a look at an even more convenient way to bring the spa experience into your daily routine – Pura Naturals Soap Infused Sponges.

These patent-pending, soap-infusion sponges are natural and sustainable beauty products, guaranteed to bee toxin free and safe for your health. The sponges are made from renewable, non-toxic plant-based foam that repels water while absorbing oil and silicone. This advanced material, named BeBetterFoam, was created by AIRTech, during the British Petroleum (BP) oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, in April of 2010! BeBetter Foam™ (previously branded Smartfoam) represents the next generation of green materials for application to a variety of products, while its most recent product addition is this line of soap-infused personal cleansing sponges.

I had a chance to try out two types of these amazing body bars, and immediately loved the relaxing, clean scents, and squeaky-clean results. The body bars are, basically, bathing sponges infused with Level Naturals soap, botanicals, and essential oils. The bars are available in three refreshing scents, and each of them is a reusable 3-in-1 soap, washcloth and loofah.

Citrus Splash Nourishing Body Bar  - a refreshing and nourishing sponge infused with a Citrus Splash scented soap.
Eucalyptus Breeze Nourishing Body Bar  - a deeply nourishing sponge infused with a Eucalyptus Breeze scented soap.
Lavender Mist Exfoliating Body Bar  - a gently exfoliating sponge infused with a Lavender Mist scented soap.

As you can see, the tiny bits of soap, which is made using the finest natural ingredients, are suspended in the open-cell foam design, so exfoliation is made possible without tiny plastic microbeads or other environmentally-suspect elements. The sponges are infused with hydrating and soothing oils, including coconut, soybean, and sunflower seed oil.

To use, simply rinse and soak the sponge with warm water, squeeze it a couple of times, and enjoy a luxurious lather, and a relaxing, aromatic effect of essential oils.  After use, rinse the sponge with clean water and leave it in a well-ventilated area to dry. If you do not have a dry place, you may also keep it in a refrigerator, stored in a Ziploc bag. See it in action in this video:

One of the obvious benefits of this product is that it really frees up the space in your bathtub. Unlike classic, cellulose sponges, Pura Naturals Body Bars repel water, thus preventing bacteria growth, odor, and mold formation. I believe that each of these sponges can be used for at least a month, so spending $5.99 for one Body Bar seems quite reasonable. Pura Naturals products are available in select CVS, Wengmans, and Harris Teeter stores, as well as online via puranaturalsproducts.com A 3-pack is also available for  $8.99.
