Shiseido Camellia Compact for 140th Anniversary

Published: 2012-06-27 by Marina Milojević in Makeup

Shiseido launches a very special anniversary item this year. It is the Camellia Compact for Fall – Winter 2012, designed to celebrate the 140th anniversary of this major Japanese hair care and cosmetics brand.

Camelia is, of course, Shiseido’s hallmark motif, deeply rooted in Japanese culture and the brand’s heritage. Camellia was the favorite flower of Shiseido’s first president, Shinzo Fukuhara, symbolizing admiration, perfection, loveliness and being an omen of good luck. The famous Shiseido camellia logo first appeared in 1915, and it was envisioned by Shinzo himself. For Shiseido, camellia represents a perfect balance between modesty and aspiratio, which is – for Shiseido – a description of true beauty.

The brand will celebrate the 140th anniversary in-store and on e-commerce by introducing three special, limited-edition items. In addition to the limited edition Shiseido Camelia Compact, the brand will revamp the original packaging of their iconic Eudermine lotion and release the Zen Secret Bloom - a limited edition scent from the Zen franchise of fragrances.

Shiseido’s Camellia Compact will be offered in a limited edition, and it arrives on the market in October 2012. The compact blends three lovely shades - Petal Pink, Rich Rose and Cool Platinum – arranged in the shape of overlapping camellias. The colors are easy to combine together, but they can also be used individually as a blush or highlighter. The product arrives in a sleek black luxurious case, embellished with Shiseido’s signature motif.
